UNIO Lounge Chair

Designed by Timo Mikkonen and Antti Rouhunkoski, the Unio Lounge Chair explores the meeting point between traditional furniture forms and contemporary comfort. Its upright, structured silhouette has a confident presence, softened by rounded edges, generous upholstery and carefully balanced proportions.

Introduced in 2021, Unio is constructed with a fully upholstered plywood frame, commercial-grade foam and a solid timber plinth. The combination of structure and softness makes it equally suited to residential interiors and higher-use lounge, reception and hospitality environments, with a range of upholstery options available for project specification.

Part of the Poiat Collection, which became part of Nikari in 2025, Unio brings together Poiat’s considered approach to interior architecture with Nikari’s longstanding commitment to craftsmanship and furniture making. The Unio series received the Warmest Design prize at the Monocle Design Awards 2022.
