Established & Sons returns to Australia, in partnership with KFive

Established & Sons is returning to Australia – a brand reinvigorated and with the same brash, punky British energy it always had. Our CEO Erna Walsh writes about the day she first encountered the brand over 20 years ago, and the full-circle moment that has brought KFive into partnership with Established & Sons in 2026.

I can still remember clearly the first time I encountered Established & Sons at Salone del Mobile Milano. It was 2005. Their stand was more statement than display. Zaha Hadid was there, as was Alasdhair Willis (husband to Stella McCartney). It felt magical.

What struck me most wasn't the scale or star power of Established & Sons’ grand entrance into the design world – it was the tone. It wasn't Italian or continental, and it certainly wasn't Scandinavian. It was distinctly British: brash, funny, and ready to challenge the status quo of sophisticated restraint.

Established & Sons impressive debut presented new designs by some of the best-known designers in the industry.

Founded in Britain in the early 2000s, Established & Sons built its reputation through championing new voices and treating furniture less as function and more as cultural storytelling. Still today, 23 years after it was founded, Established & Sons exudes that unmistakable start-up energy. There is credibility there, thanks to the enduring currency of its product collection.

And under the direction of CEO Casper Vissers (ex-Moooi) that legacy is also finding renewal. I encountered the brand in Milan again this year and was instantly drawn to its fresh, punky attitude and impeccable design taste. 2026 finds the brand responding nimbly to shifting lifestyle values and global market conditions with an adaptive approach to design and operational logistics. The heart and origin of Established & Sons remain in Britain where it was first founded, but the business has recently expanded its operational footprint into Europe and China.

In Milan this year, Established & Sons presented new designs from new voices, like Nathan Martell, whose Layup Lounge Chair (2026) pushes the limits of wood bending – achievable thanks to the company’s advanced manufacturing capabilities. This was showcased alongside The Original Maya collection of light sculptures (Luiza Guidi, 2026); and Carlo Nason’s Gelato lamps and Medusa lights, both 1970s designs upgraded in 2025.

Also within the collection are those now-iconic pieces like the freestanding Stack drawers by Raw Edges, (launched in 2008 and still a compelling, irreplicable piece that pays tribute to the brand’s avant garde attitude), and Jasper Morrison Crate Series (2006).

As a body of work, Established & Sons’ furnishings and lighting products remain evocative and diverse in their appeal. These are pieces that do more than furnish a room, they bring new layers of storytelling and character into interior environments both residential and commercial. “We’re known for strong, characterful pieces and we believe these can add to the atmospheric, layered interiors that architects and designers are creating,” says Casper.

Without a hint of nostalgia to it, Established & Sons’ 2026 Milan showcase demonstrated the brilliance of its collection, filled with designs that remain unfazed by time and trend. It felt like an excellent match for KFive’s own adventurous spirit and enthusiasm, and the right moment to bring a brand with this level of design pedigree, cultural narrative and creative storytelling to you, our valued architecture and design community.

Casper puts it best when he speaks to why now in Australia, and why KFive. “We are excited to work with KFive and Erna. Her energy, her willpower and the trust she’s built with architects and interior designers is everything,” he says. “Australia itself is incredibly open-minded and adventurous – your designers are working internationally, taking on major projects all over the world – it’s exactly the kind of market where Established & Sons can really come alive.”
