We are delighted to introduce you to the newest team members of our K5 family Mona in our Surry Hills, Sydney showroom, and Laura in our Fitzroy Melbourne showroom. Their arrival marks an exciting chapter in our journey, and we can't wait for you to get to know them better.
Meet Mona
Mona brings over two decades of experience to our team. Her journey in the architecture and design industry began with interior design, styling, and project coordination. This rich background has allowed her to build strong relationships within the Australian architecture and design community.
What truly fuels Mona's passion is the creative design process and collaborating with brilliant professionals and global furniture brands that share her commitment to design and the environment. She finds immense joy in seeing her clients' projects come to life, knowing that her dedication has played an essential role in their success.
Mona's project portfolio is as diverse as it gets, spanning corporate workplaces, defence, education, health, hotels, and residential. Her discerning eye for innovative products has led her to some remarkable discoveries within the K5 Furniture collection. She's particularly captivated by the Nordgrona organic lichen products, which beautifully blend nature with acoustics, “the creativity here is endless and quite a showstopper with an environmental advantage”. Additionally, Mona holds a deep appreciation for the sustainably made Zanat collection – ‘ the Sova Lounge Chair is quite special’ and elegant designs of Nikari particularly’ the exquisite Nikari April table set which was designed by Swiss designer Alfredo Häberli’. Simple yet elegant design and very much adaptable to the aesthetic of the Australian dream home. With new products constantly emerging from all the brands, this keeps my work interesting and fascinating all the time.
When she's not immersed in the design world, Mona enjoys the beautiful outdoors around Sydney, whipping up culinary delights while dancing to her favourite tunes, and spending time with her cheeky dog, Beau.

Meet Laura
For Laura, furniture is more than just functionality; it's a piece of art with a story to tell. Laura has a keen eye for the aesthetics, materials, and the journey that every piece represents.
In her professional life, Laura has been fortunate to collaborate with some of Melbourne's most innovative minds in the architecture and design industry. While her expertise spans across various sectors, but she has a particular focus in hospitality, workplace, and high-end residential projects. Laura excels at curating furniture that aligns with design aspirations, integrating products, materials and finishes, and ensure they are fit for purpose. “It goes without say, particularly in today’s economy, and with the everchanging trends and requirements of interiors, budget is a factor. K5’s offering allows me to curate a space that balances all aspects and priorities within a project, for Designer’s and the end client.”
Laura has an appreciation for quality, designer furniture as pieces of art in her professional life, although currently her home (and heart) house two spectacular, cheeky, messy and energetic baby boys – “Nothing is Safe!”. Laura’s busy life, as mother of two energetic boys, has shifted her focus towards functional, easily cleaned, sustainable, robust child-friendly furniture. “Aesthetic and coordination throughout my home are still very important to me and how I feel in my home, as is how my home makes others feel.”
