KFive commenced in Melbourne in 2001 with the intention to provide progressive designs that are unlike any other in the Australian furniture industry. Its founding Directors, husband and wife, Kearon Carr and Erna Walsh have introduced a unique element to this industry and have used their years of experience combined with their vision to provide some of the most creative, modern and sleek designs from all over the world.
Kearon has 33 years experience in the contract furniture business and Erna has 16. During these years he represented leading brands including B&BItalia, Giorgetti, Faram , Cassina, Moroso and Bernhardt.
Kearon's position is to ensure that the development and implementation of strategies is supported by current technologies and is financially sound.
Erna Walsh is the CEO and ensures that KFive has innovative new brands that reflect the Company's philosophy and keeps KFive focused on the future in furniture design.
The experience of the Directors within the industry is extensive and all of their knowledge and skills have been applied to KFive, making it the leading edge company it is today.
The Company's Melbourne showroom displays many innovative products, including work from Segis, Multipla and Delight, brands that were, and still are, exclusive to KFive. Due to the extensive development of the business, agents were quickly appointed in other states to ensure Australian wide exposure.
In 2006 the Sydney showroom was opened and the range of products expanded to include: Materia, Skandiform and Nordic Care from Sweden, as well as Mascagni and Arketipo from Italy.
By 2009 this extensive range allowed the Company to supply products for Hospitality, Educational, Commercial and Residential fit outs. Major projects were secured throughout Australia including: The Australian National Museum in Canberra, Crown Casino and the Grand Hyatt in Melbourne, and Hamilton Island Resort on the Great Barrier Reef. Recent projects include the Faculty of Law in Sydney, Melbourne Olympic Park Stadium, Mazda Australia and the Victorian County Courts. Projects have also been completed in Dubai and Tokyo.
Our clients' include of property developers, contractors, architects, and interior designers. As they continue to feature our products in projects around Australia the KFive commitment to quality and excellence travels with them.
Our products blend in functionally as they are made with sculptural simplicity, bringing the stylishness of interior landscapes into the world, both indoors & outdoors. Although our products may be stylish and presentable enough to admire, they never demand attention.
Our philosophy is to import well-made, high profile products whilst offering genuine value and responsive, reliable service. Clients benefit from our knowledge of urban environments as well as from our unique combination of design skills and manufacturing expertise. We take pride in our ability to meet delivery deadlines on time and our staffʼs dedication to customizing our clientsʼ requirements.
We want our furniture to shape and encourage the dynamic processes that take place in the modern environment and we believe we can do this by having fun along the way. First we work with factories with lots of freedom to experiment with ideas, functions and forms. Then we find a way to realize their ideas. Our aim is that when the furniture eventually reaches its user the creative spirit of the designer will still be apparent. Hopefully it will also be infectious.
This activity requires extensive travel to suppliers and distributors all over the world to make sure we keep up to date with technologies and designs. Ultimately this has now lead to our expansion into the USA, an expansion that will continue.
KFive supports Australian designers and launched the first of a number of new Australian designed products in May 2010. POD designed by John Sullivan is a generous range of woven outdoor lounges and coffee tables. From the outset we have financially supported this development and planned for the products to be sold internationally.
KFive advocates the use of environmentally preferable products and has several product lines (Materia, Skandiform and Segis) certified to the Good Environmental Choice Australia eco-label.
These products have met the requirements of the GECA 28-2006 Furniture and fittings standard version 1.10. This means that the products have been assessed and have met the requirements of the standard which addresses such criteria as: product quality, certified timber sources, formaldehyde emissions, adhesives, fabrics, hazardous materials, recyclability of plastic parts and packaging, post consumer recycling and product stewardship.
All GECA certified Kfive products are covered by a warranty of 5 years, which includes replacement of defective parts.
KFive is committed to reducing the quantity of used products entering landfill. Materia, Skandiform and Segis products can be returned to KFive at the end of their useful life for recycling.

From the outset KFive has always supported worthy initiatives. The KFive indigenous Scholarship for Indigenous Students at Charles Sturt University Darwin is an example of this. We helped initiate this program in 2009 and the program continues to grow.
We believe that our sense of adventure and our curiosity as to how we all relate at work and play has served us well and we enthusiastically look forward to the future.
